Christmas 2006

We had so much fun this Christmas! We went to Dallas with Grammy & Grandpa to see my aunts, uncles, & cousins. There was a room full of presents for all of us! And, Unlce Mo & Aunt Stacey made a delicious lunch for everyone. Then, we came home on Sunday & went to Christmas Eve service. On Christmas Day we celebrated with the Hicks side of the family & had fun fun fun again!! The whole house was full of presents & Grandmother & Grandpa Hicks made a great meal. I also got to play with my friend Elaine, & I took her for a ride in the house on my new Radio Flyer wagon. I got so many toys, clothes & books...I just don't know what to play with next! Climbing is Fun Too!

One is Fun!

Being 1 y.o. is so much fun! I love to play at the park, & now I like to climb on things too. I really like to "help" with the dishwasher & to rearrange everything in the kitchen cabinets. I also recently learned that 2 lids (from the pots & pans cabinet) make great cymbals! And, I have now improved my take-my-own-diaper-off talent to include using both of my hands & ripping it off in about 2 seconds flat.
I also like to run up & down the hallway chasing the dogs & Momma & Daddy. And, last week, Daddy taught me to kick & (sort of) throw a cool new green bouncy ball he got me. My friend Diego from down the street sometimes comes over to play with me. (I "politely" ask him to give me back my toys.....but he's trying to teach me to share.)
I'm also learning to say a few more words (at least to talk & say words that Momma & Daddy seem to understand). And, I understand a whole lot of what they say to me. (I just don't like to listen when they tell me "no" or make me go to sleep when I want to play instead.....) I can now tell them when I'm finished eating (my own special hand gestures or if that doesn't work, I just spit my food out & say shake my head "no").
We're getting ready for Christmas, & it will be so much fun! I can't wait to see what new toys I get & to play with everyone! Love, Davis

12 Month Dr's Check-Up

Hello! Today I had my 12 month dr's check up with Dr. DeHaro. I was kind of quiet at first...not too sure what was going to happen next...but the doctor played with my phone & elephant stuffed animal & made me smile. By the end of the visit, I was talking with him & waving my arm in the air. Then, I got some shots...OUCH! I just cried for a little bit, but I sure watched the nurse after that to make sure there weren't anymore shots after that. Momma took me home & I went straight to sleep.
I'm 23 lbs 1 oz (50-75th%) & 31 1/2 inches tall (90-95th%). And, yes Aunt Stacey & Aunt Mimi, my head is in the large % bracket (90th%).....no wonder I have a hard time getting my shirts over my head! hehehe I guess that means I'm a smart boy!
Now, I think I'll go play with all the new toys I got for my birthday! Love, Davis

My 1st Birthday Party!

We had so much fun at my 1st birthday party! I can't believe all the toys & clothes I got! I can hardly sleep at night.....I'm so ready to go play with all my new stuff! I really loved playing with everyone who came over. Thanks for a great day! Love, Davis

Family Fun

I had fun at Grammy & Grandpa's house over Thanksgiving weekend! We got to see lots of family (& eat lots of food!) Happy Birthday to Great-Grandma "Mamaw"!
And, we're praying for Aidan (my 6 wk old 2nd cousin who's recovering from heart surgery). That's his sweet sister Bryce (2 yo) in the photo with Cousin Isabella.
I got to see all my cousins. (Nathan=4 mos; Natalie=almost 2yo; & Isabella=3 3/4 yo) We love you all! Love, Davis
