Happy September Days!

DinoLand! It was alot of fun at DinoLand & Zilker Park last week with my playgroup friends. My cousins Isabella & Natalie (& Aunt Mimi) were in town all week too, which was even more fun! They came to Austin to escape the hurricane. They finally got electricity back in their house, so they're glad to be home again. We enjoyed our "evacuees" & are glad they're safe & sound. Zilker Park was alot of fun too, especially getting to ride the train again with my friends & cousins. Here are some pictures from the last couples weeks. There's also some pictures of my friend Diego & his brother Karlo. We were so sad when they moved out of town. They were our neighbors & good friends. We really miss them!
I also started preschool 2 mornings a week. It's a big change for me (& Mommy too). I like my "Handy Manny" backpack & lunchbox. There are mostly boys in my class & 2 girls now too. It's actually alot of fun even though a couple days I cried when Mommy left (but don't tell her, I really only cried for about 2 minutes & then I started playing with my new friends) I like to bring my artwork home & show Mommy & Daddy. I'm really really tired when I get home from school & go straight to sleep for my nap. Later, I talk nonstop about all I learned at school & all the fun we had. I like to help Mommy pack my lunch for school. I really like to help Mommy cook.....especially pancakes in the mornings. I wear my firefighter's helmet too that I got at our playgroup fire station tour last week. That was alot of fun too, & then we went to the park to play & make snacks that looked like firetrucks!

We also went to play with Grandmother & Grandpa the other day. Grandpa let me climb the tall ladder with him, & Grandmother let me help her cook dinner. I had so much fun with them!

Grammy & Grandpa came over to our house the other day too. I showed Grandpa how I was fixing my jeep in the backyard. (I rembered Daddy fixing something under his truck the other day, so I got my tools out & started to read the manual & fix my jeep. It took awhile, but I finally got it running again. My cousins & I also washed our little cars in the backyard the other night. After we worked real hard, we decided to take a dip in the water bucket. Fun times! (Natalie always has the fun ideas!) Isabella taught me lots of new songs & games to play. (freeze dance is one of my favorite's now) They're so fun to play with! Alot of my friends are also having birthday parties, so it's fun to go celebrate with them (& eat cupcakes & ice cream too!) September is alot of fun! Love, Davis

Colorado Vacation

We had so much fun on our vacation in Colorado! It was my 1st airplane ride, & I thought it was so cool! I cheered when we lifted off & said "faster!" We missed our connecting flight in Dallas, but I didn't mind too much....we ate supper, watched some US Marines get cheered home, & then caught a later flight to Denver. I fell asleep when we landed & didn't wake up til the next morning in the hotel room. The Denver Zoo was GREAT! lots & lots of animals & neat exhibits! & even a little train ride!
We spent the next 5 days in Breckinridge, CO, which was really pretty & lots of fun things to do. My favorite thing to do there was exploring the rivers, bridges, & our little "hikes"....& of course throwing rocks in the water. Daddy is a good rock-skipper! I also got to play one morning at a Children's Museum, & we found lots of parks to play at. It was also fun to see all the chipmunks running around, & we saw a red-tailed fox walk across the street too one day. ( & a big ram standing on the side of the road too) We ate at lots of neat resturants, did a little window-shopping, found neat toy stores & play areas, & of course took lots of naps too. We also found a neat train on the side of the road, near the hockey rink. (I LOVE trains!) I found lots of neat sticks, flowers & rocks on our mini-hikes too.
On Thursday, we drove from Breckenridge to Montrose to see our friends there. It was a pretty drive through all the mountain passes. We even discovered a really cool museum in Gunnison, CO, on this drive. It had a cool train out front & fully decorated houses, barns, antique car barn, chapel, & museum barns. We all 3 loved it!
It was fun seeing my friends Elliot & Chloe & their parents Catherine & Drew. They let us stay at their family's beautiful cabin in Ouray, CO. I also got to play with their cousins, Sophia & Alexander & their parents Matt & Christina. They are a fun, nice family! Thanks, guys, for a great time! We even got to see Box Canyon in Ouray & see the waterfall cave & go hicking...across the bridge....& through the tunnel. (Elliot & I had a raisin & gatorade break on the way down.) That Chloe Jane is a hoot too! (I think it's hilarious that they call her "meatball".) On Fri night, we all had a campfire & ate smoores. Yummy! What a fun time we had in beautiful Colorado! Love, Davis
